Arrest Made In Saturday Night Slashing

ARREST MADE IN SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2021 PERTH AMBOY SLASHING

     " Josue Jeronimo Has Been Charged With Aggravated Assault & Weapons Offenses In Connection With The Saturday Night Slashing Of A 31-Year-Old Perth Amboy Man."

PERTH AMBOY, NJ.- On Sunday, September 19, 2021 Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Acting Perth Amboy Police Chief Larry Cattano announced that a Perth Amboy man, Josue Jeronimo was arrested and Charged with Second Degree Aggravated Assault; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.



     On Saturday, September 18, 2021, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Members of The Perth Amboy Police Department responded to 375 New Street in Perth Amboy on a report of a man being stabbed. Upon arrival, Police Officers found the victim, a 31-Year-Old Perth Amboy resident, who was suffering from a laceration to his throat. The victim was immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University for treatment, where he remains in critical condition.


     An investigation by The Perth Amboy Police Department in Conjunction with The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office determined that the victim and Mr. Jeronimo got into an altercation, during which Mr. Jeronimo slashed the victims throat with a bottle.


     Mr. Jeronimo in presently being detained in The Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick, New Jersey pending an initial court appearance.
