WALLINGTON NEW JERSEY MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A MINOR IN ELMWOOD PARK NEW JERSEY

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ.- On Friday, August 27, 2021 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Rene A. Castaneda, 43, of Wallington, New Jersey on Charges of Sexual Assault and Child Endangerment. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
On Thursday, August 12, 2021, The Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an allegation of a Sexual Assault of a Minor by Mr. Castaneda. An investigation was initiated and revealed that Castaneda Sexually Assaulted the Minor, who was under the age of thirteen at the time at a residence in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
Based on the investigation, Rene A. Castaneda was Charged with One Count of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; One Count of Second Degree Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact; and One Count of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Mr. Castaneda was processed and remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
