TRENTON, NJ.- On Tuesday, August 30, 2021, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating the Monday night Fatal Shooting in Trenton, New Jersey.
On Monday, August 30, 2021, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Members of The Trenton Police Department responded to the 400 block of West Hanover Street in The City of Trenton on a ShotSpotter activation.
Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered Fred Davis, 43, suffering a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation so far determined that Mr. Davis was arriving home from work at the time of the shooting. He parked his vehicle in front of his residence and was approached by two black males who attempted to rob him.
