JERSEY CITY NEW JERSEY MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A THIRTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Wednesday, August 18, 2021 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced that on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Steffon Fowler, 24, of Jersey City, New Jersey.
Mr. Fowler was arrested on charges involving the Sexual Assault of a 13-Year-Old female victim at his residence on Arlington Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was arrested without incident after surrendering himself at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City.
On Sunday, January 17, 2021, Members of The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit were notified by the Jersey City Police Department about an alleged Sexual Assault of a Montclair, New Jersey girl by a man she met on social media. Fowler was later identified and arrested following an investigation by the Special Victims Unit.
Fowler has been charged with One Count of Second Degree Sexual Assault; One Count of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and One Count of Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Contact.
After his arrest, Fowler was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny, New Jersey pending his first appearance.
Hudson County Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest.
