A PATERSON MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION TO SUNDAY'S FATAL PEDESTRIAN CAR ACCIDENT IN CLIFTON, NEW JERSEY

CLIFTON, NJ.- On Wednesday, July 14, 2021 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi announced that based upon an investigation by The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and The Clifton Police Department, Ibrahim Jadallah, 21, of Paterson, New Jersey has been charged today in connection to Sunday's Fatal motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
Mr. Jadallah has been charged with One Count of Second Degree Death by Automobile, as well as various motor vehicle violations, for recklessly causing the death of Marinus Lalumia, 81, of Clifton, New Jersey.
Mr, Jadallah was arrested without incident at The Clifton Police Department, he was processed and then transported to The Passaic County Jail.
It has been alleged that on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at approximately 8:22 p.m., Jadallah was operating a 2017 Honda HR-V near the intersection of Hazel Street and Van Orden Place in Clifton, New Jersey, when he struck Mr. Lalumia, who was crossing the street. Mr. Lalumia was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The ensuing investigation into the crash revealed that Mr. Jadallah was travelling at an excessive rate of speed when he struck Mr. Lalumia.
