A MASSACHUSETTS MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH MARCH NORTH BERGEN SEXUAL ASSAULT

ARLINGTON, MASS.- On Tuesday, July 27, 2021 Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced, that on Monday, July 26, 2021, Members of The Arlington, Massachusetts Police Department arrested Wolide Yessuf, 18, of Cambridge, Massachusetts who was wanted on Hudson County Charges that he Sexually Assaulted a 14-year-old girl in North Bergen, New Jersey.
Mr. Yessuf has been Charged with First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Second Degree Sexual Assault; and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Yessuf had met the victim on social media, and in March the two, along with another female juvenile travelled from Massachusetts to a motel located in North Bergen, New Jersey, where Yessuf provided the victim with drugs and alcohol before sexually assaulting her.
Yessuf was arrested without incident at The Arlington Police Department on Monday, July 26, 2021 at approximately 1:45 p.m. Yessuf is currently pending extradition to New Jersey.
Hudson County Prosecutor Suarez credited The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit, The Arlington, Massachusetts Police Department and The Federal Bureau of Investigations, Boston Field Office for the investigation and arrest of Mr. Yessuf.
