Largest In History Narcotics Seizure In Atlantic County

2 MEN HAVE BEEN CHARGED IN THE LARGEST NARCOTICS SEIZURE IN THE HISTORY OF ATLANTIC COUNTY, NEW JERSEY

     " On Monday July 12, 2021 Atlantic County Authorities & Federal DEA Authorities, Arrest 2 Men & Seize 15 Kilograms, Tens Of Thousands Of Pre-Packaged Individual Doses Of Narcotics, & Weapons."

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Thursday, July 15, 2021 Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner and DEA Special Agent in Charge Susan A. Gibson announced that a Pleasantville Man and a Egg Harbor Township Man have been charged with Conspiring to Distribute Heroin following an investigation that led to one of the largest narcotics seizures in Atlantic County's History.



     Ricardo Clavijo, 39, of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey and Christopher Gonzales, 37, of Pleasantville, New Jersey were each charged on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, by The Office of The U.S. Attorney with various Narcotics and Weapons Offenses.



    The defendants are charged with Conspiring to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute over One Kilogram of Heroin.


    " By all accounts, this case represents the largest seizure of drugs in the history of Atlantic County. I cannot emphasize enough that this case could not have been accomplished without the collaborative work of The Liberty Mid-Atlantic High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner stated.



    In the basement of the home, Law Enforcement Officers discovered the following Narcotics and Weapons along with other items:

    . 5 Kilogram-sized packages of suspected Fentanyl

    . 8 Kilogram-sized packages of suspected Fentanyl or Cocaine

    . 2 Kilogram-sized packages of suspected Heroin

    . Tens of Thousands of Pre-Packaged individual doses of suspect Heroin.

    . One .45 Caliber Handgun, a Loaded Magazine for the Handgun, and a 9mm 50-Round Drum Magazine.

    Additional Narcotics Packaging Material, Paraphernalia and an Electronic Money Counter were also seized by Law Enforcement on Monday, July 12, 2021.


    Both Defendants appeared by videoconference before U.S. Magistrate Ann Marie Donio, and were detained without bail.


" The Rules Of The Court Require Us To Include A Statement, Which States: The Charges Are Merely Accusations And The Defendant And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt."
