NEW YORK,NY.- Former President Donald Trump will hold a Save America rally in Florida this weekend, after his Organization and the company's Chief Financial Officer were charged with running a fifteen year alleged tax scheme.
The Manhattan District Attorney's Office has filed a Fifteen Count Indictment against The Trump Organization , the family Real Estate business run by the former President, and it's long time Chief Financial Officer, Allan Weisselberg, on Tax Related Offenses. Weisselberg surrendered to authorities on Thursday, July 1, 2021.
Weisselberg has been accused of avoiding taxes on $1.7 Million paid as Indirect Employee Compensation, which went towards school tuition, apartment and car leases.
New York Attorney General Letitia James said the indictment " is an important marker in the ongoing criminal investigation of The Trump Organization and it's CFO," and the District Attorney's Office will " follow the facts and the law wherever they may lead."
The Trump Organization has called the indictment an attempt to hurt Former President Donald Trump politically. Weisselberg and The Company Pleaded not Guilty to charges that include Grand Larceny and Tax Fraud.
Trump is scheduled to hold a Save America Rally in Sarasota, Florida, on Saturday, though State Governor Ron DeSantis has made a direct plea to postpone the event because of The Surfside Condominium collapse, which has resulted in 18 confirmed casualties.
Though the criminal investigation against former President Trump's business does not directly indict him, it could deliver a blow to his finances, and he remains the focus of a broader investigation into whether his Real Estate Company manipulated property values to gain greater Tax Benefits.
