A PHILLIPSBURG NEW JERSEY MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A MINOR

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ.- On Thursday, July 22, 2021 Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pheiffer announced that on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, Douglas Soto, 21, of Phillipsburg, New Jersey was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault Offense.
The complaint alleges that Mr. Soto met the victim on Wizz App and further communicated with her on Snapchat, eventually Soto and the victim met, and over a short time span, Soto committed multiple acts of Sexual Penetration and Sexual Contact upon her, when she was at least thirteen years old but less than sixteen years old, while Mr. Soto was at least four years older than the victim.
The act are alleged to have occurred in Phillipsburg and Alpha, New Jersey. The child was known to the defendant. The crimes were discovered when the child disclosed the relationship to her parents.
Mr. Soto has been charged with Two Counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault; Two Counts of Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Contact; and Two Counts of Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Soto was transported to The Warren County Jail. His first appearance in Warren County Superior Court occurred on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Mr Soto was released on conditions of his next Court appearance scheduled for September 3, 2021.
