SUSPECT WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH FATAL SHOOTING APPREHENDED IN PENNSYLVANIA

ALLENTOWN, PA.- Today, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, announced the arrest of Omire Rios-Williams, the suspect wanted in connection with the May 3rd fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man on Princeton Avenue and Brown Place in Jersey City, New Jersey, was apprehended and arrested without incident in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Rios-Williams, 19, of Jersey City, was apprehended just before 2:00 p.m., this afternoon by members of The Hudson County Homicide Task Force, The Allentown Police Department, and The Jersey City City Police Department at a residence on the 100 Block of West Green Street in Allentown. He is pending extradition proceedings to be returned to New Jersey.
Rios-Williams has been charged with First Degree Murder; First Degree Attempted Murder; First Degree Conspiracy To Commit Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, and Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Rios-Williams' co-conspirator, Shianne Payne-Nanton, was arrested and charged in the homicide on May 27, 2021.
On Monday, May 3, 2021, just before 11:00 p.m., members of The Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Princeton Avenue and Brown Place, where responding officers found a 23-year-old victim- later identified as Emmanuel Garcia, who had sustained gunshot wounds to his body. Mr. Garcia was transported to The Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 11:24 p.m. The Regional Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds of the torso and left upper extremity, and the manner of death to be homicide.
Hudson County Prosecutor, Suarez, credited Hudson County Homicide Unit, The Jersey City Police Department, and The Allentown Police Department for the investigation and arrest.
