" Member's Of The Prosecutor's Office Remembers Late Detective Sergeant William McIntyre, For His Success & Passion For His Job."

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office will take time to remember and honor Retired Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Detective Sergeant William McIntyre, 73, who passed away on June 7, 2021.
Detective Sergeant McIntyre was Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Chief of Detectives, Bruce DeShields Sergeant when he was assigned to The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit in June of 1995. For Chief DeShields, Det. Sgt. McIntyre will always be remembered for his passion, motivation, commitment and spirit of comradery.
When Chief DeShields speaks of the late Det. Sgt. McIntyre, he calls him "Mac." Chief Deshields served for Det.Sgt. McIntyre from 1995 to 1998, and then, the now Chief was promoted to Sergeant.
" Mac and I worked as Sergeants together in Major Crimes until he transferred to The Intelligence Unit. Mac had a larger than life personality. When you caught a homicide, he would stay on top of you by challenging you. He taught me to think of investigations as a Chess Game. Study what you see and what you don't see. Plan out your moves, always think three moves ahead. If you hit a dead end, move onto another angle."
"But what I most respect about Mac was his passion for the job. He had a fiery temper and he knew how to motivate. You did not want to be on the end of one of those speeches. But what I loved the most about him was his spirit of comradery. Mac had a way about him that made you want to work as a team. With him there was no "I." I give a lot of my personal success because of what I learned from Mac."
" He taught me how to motivate my personnel, how to work as a team, and work as a team to accomplish our goals. From this Mac and I formed a lifelong friendship. What I learned from Mac, I pass along to others hoping that the pride he instilled in me, I instill into others," Chief DeShields said.
"Thank You For Your Service To Country And County Detective Sergeant McIntyre," Gone But Never Forgotten.
