WOMAN INJURED IN EARLY SUNDAY MORNING STABBING

NEWARK, NJ.- A woman suffered minor injuries after being stabbed by a man in the Broad Street section of Newark, early Sunday morning.
The early morning attack which unfolded around 1:17 a.m. on the 100 Block of Thomas Street, where Police Department Emergency Operators received a report of a woman had been stabbed at the location.
Police Officers were dispatched and arrived on the scene shortly there after the initial report. Police found the victim suffering from superficial wounds. The suspect was found seriously injured, after he was beaten by several unknown assailants who attempted to disarm him.
Police reported that the suspect was rushed to University Hospital, for treatment to his injuries, while Police launched an investigation into the matter.
The condition or extent of the suspect's injuries were unavailable at the time of reporting.
Newark police Detectives arrived on the scene, later joined by Crime Scene Unit Investigators, to gather evidence and assist in the ensuing investigation.
