Does The Teachers Unions Now Decide The Science

WHY FOLLOW THE SCIENCE, WHEN WE HAVE THE TEACHER'S UNION TO GUIDE SCHOOL REOPENINGS.

" With The Recent Disclosure Of Emails From The Teacher's Union To The CDC, It Is Apparent Who's In Charge Of When Our Children May Fully Return To School. "

Apparently, The American Federation of Teachers have lobbied the Center for Disease Control and Prevention on school-reopening guidance released in February, even suggesting the language that should be used in their guidance recommendations, emails revealed.

The emails were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by the conservative  watchdog group Americans for Public Trust and provided to the New York Post. The New York Post reported on Saturday that the powerful teachers union had influenced officials at The Center for Disease Control and Prevention in putting the brakes on fully reopening in-person learning within schools, emails revealed vast communications between top CDC, AFT and White House officials.

While the CDC was preparing to declare that all schools could provide in-person learning regardless of the degree of community spread of coronavirus, AFT senior director of health issues Kelly Trautner proposed adding new language.

" In the event of high community-transmission results from a new variant of SARS-CoV-2, a update of these guidelines may be necessary," Trautner's suggestion read. The language was later added as part of the CDC's guidance on reopening.

Further, the AFT also pushed for exemptions from in-person work for teachers and staff at higher risks of susceptibility to coronavirus, as well as staff with a family member at high risk for Covid-19. Language outlining these exemption was later adopted as part of the final CDC guidance.

The February 1st email containing the language was later forwarded to CDC Director Dr. Rachel Walensky by White House coronavirus testing coordinator Carol Johnson.

The CDC and AFT said that discussions between the two agencies are routine, in comments to the Post.

" Naturally, we have been in regular touch with the agencies setting policy that affect our school employees' work and lives, including the CDC," AFT spokeswoman Oriana Korin said, noting that the union held similar conversations with the Trump administration.

As of May 2nd only 47% of U.S. schools are holding fully in-person learning, while 48% are on some type of hybrid learning schedule, with 4% of schools fully remote.

Teachers Unions Donations:

Teachers Unions have steadily increased their political involvement. From 2004 to 2016 their donations grew from $4.3 million to more than $32 million- an all time high. Giving democrats 94 percent of the funds contribute to candidates.

Two organizations account for practically all of the contributions made by teachers unions, are The National Education Association donated $20 million in 2016, and The American Federation of Teachers donating almost $12 million. Both groups, which compete for members, but also collaborate with each other through The NEA-AFT Partnership, are consistently among the organizations that contribute the most money to candidates and political groups.

Top Contributors, for 2019-2020 to both democrats and liberal groups were The National Education Association contributing $47,552,896.00 and The American Federations of Teachers contributing $18,417,957.00. This might explain how unions can dictate to the CDC in setting guidelines with policies, in the reopening our schools nationwide.

This may further make some sense to why the CDC has continued with their flip flopping back and forth with not only school reopenings, but also with other issues such as mask wearing. It is now apparent that our teachers unions are working with democrats and liberal in prolonging forever pandemic.

As our children continue to suffer from mixed guidance, as President Biden now states that this fall maybe too soon to fully reopen all schools. Further, I guess since some teachers teach our children lessons in science, their unions get to decide the science for CDC's guidelines in their guidance for reopening our schools, You Decide.
