NEWARK, NJ- A man was struck and killed on Monday, by a westbound Raritan Valley Line Transit Train, officials said.
The man who has not yet been identified, was struck and killed at 3:05 p.m. about two-miles east of the Union Station, reported by Jim Smith a New Jersey Transit spokesman. None of the crew or passengers onboard the train were injured in the accident.
The westbound train originated at Penn Station New York and was set to arrive at the Highbridge Station at 4:30 p.m. Passengers were provided bus service, as of 6:30 p.m. yesterday rail service was still delayed on the Raritan Valley Line.
