Police Searching For Suspect In Northwest D.C. Stabbing Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 31-year-old Gaithersburg, Maryland, man became the latest victim to fall prey to the continuing violence plaguing the Nation's Capitol City, after he was fatally stabbed early Wednesday morning on a Northwest, D.C. street.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, just shortly before 12:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department's Third District responded to reports of a stabbing on the 700 Block of V Street in Northwest, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Jonathan Simmons-Miller, 31, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, on the ground, having sustained a life-threatening stab wound. Mr. Simmons-Miller was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Simmons-Miller succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for a suspect and a motive for the stabbing.
