Wayne New Jersey Man Indicted

A 23-YEAR-OLD WAYNE NEW JERSEY MAN HAS BEEN INDICTED IN CONNECTION WITH A DECEMBER 21, 2019 MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT

     " Ibrahim Sumrein Of Wayne, New Jersey, Has Been Indicted For Driving While Intoxicated In December, 2019 Paterson Car Crash That Left A Person Seriously Injured."

PATERSON, NJ.- On Thursday, September 2, 2021 Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Passaic County, New Jersey has returned an Indictment against Ibrahim Sumrein, 23, of Wayne, New Jersey, in connection to a December 21, 2019 motor vehicle crash that occurred in the City of Paterson, New Jersey that left one person seriously injured.


     The Passaic County Grand Jury returned Indictment on Thursday, September 2, 2021, Charging Mr. Sumrein with One Count of Second Degree Aggravated Assault;  One Count of Second Degree Assault by Auto While Intoxicated and Within 1,000 Feet of School Property; One Count of Third Degree Assault by Auto While Intoxicated; and One Count of Fourth Degree Assault by Auto.



     If convicted, Mr. Sumrein will subject to the sentencing exposure on Second Degree Aggravated Assault and Second Degree Assault by Auto While Intoxicated and Within 1,000 Feet of School Property is Five to Ten Years in New Jersey State Prison, and The Aggravated Assault charge would require a 85% term of service before Parole Eligibility pursuant to The No Early Release Act, and Three Years of Parole Supervision; on Third Degree Assault by Auto While Intoxicated, is Three to Five Years in New Jersey State Prison; and on Fourth Degree Assault by Auto, is up to Eighteen Months in New Jersey State Prison.
